The Digital Living Room is the companion blog to the Digital Living Room summit, which will be held Dec. 7-8 in the Bay Area. It’s written by Michael Stroud, a journalist and event producer living in Los Angeles. He has worked as a professional business journalist for 25 years, covering digital media for Wired.com, Hollywood for Bloomberg News,technology for Investor’s Business Daily, and television for Broadcasting and Cable. His articles have appeared in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Wired, Asian Wall Street Journal, Red Herring, San Jose Mercury News, Far Eastern Economic Review and many other publications.. He received a BA in Asian Studies from UC Berkeley in 1981, and did graduate work in Mandarin Chinese at the Inter-University Center for Chinese Studies in Taiwan. He began his journalism career there as a freelance foreign correspondent, and received an Eisenhower Fellowship to study Taiwan’s technology infrastructure in 1992.
In 2000, he started iHollywood Forum, an entertainment technology event company, with his wife, Zahava. The company produced many of the seminal digital media events of the new century, including: Digital Media Summit, Mobile Entertainment Summit, Digital Living Room, Hollywood Goes Green and many other conferences.
